In an exciting development, the BBC has commenced filming on ‘Ludwig,’ a genre-bending detective series set to captivate audiences with its intriguing plot. The six-part series stars the versatile David Mitchell, known for his comedic prowess and captivating performances.
‘Ludwig’ follows the enigmatic John ‘Ludwig’ Taylor, portrayed by David Mitchell, whose life takes an unexpected turn when his identical twin, James, mysteriously disappears. In a quest to uncover the truth, John steps into his brother’s shoes, assuming James’ identity. Living a reclusive life without modern technology, John designs puzzles under the alias ‘Ludwig.’
The stakes skyrocket as it’s revealed that James is not just an ordinary person but a successful DCI leading Cambridge’s bustling inner-city major crimes team. Can John, a master of cryptic puzzles, unravel the complexities surrounding his missing twin brother?
Adding to the stellar cast is Anna Maxwell Martin as Lucy Betts-Taylor, John’s sister-in-law and the wife of the missing James. The ‘case-of-the-week’ crime comedy-drama promises a mix of mystery and humour, making it a compelling watch.
David Mitchell expresses his excitement about the project, saying, “I’m delighted to be working in a genre of television that I have loved ever since, at the age of 10, I started watching the Miss Marple adaptations, starring Joan Hickson, with my parents. Sometimes the only thing that can bring the whole family together is murder.”
Joining Mitchell and Martin are talented actors Dipo Ola, Gerran Howell, Izuka Hoyle, Dylan Hughes, and Dorothy Atkinson, further enriching the ensemble.
