Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a significant barn fire on Beltring Road in Paddock Wood on Saturday evening. The fire, which broke out at 18:49, required a robust response from the fire service to bring it under control.
Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus worked diligently to extinguish the blaze using high-pressure hose reel jets. The fire was successfully brought under control and extinguished by 10.22pm
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service praised the coordinated efforts of the crews, stating, “The teamwork and prompt actions of our firefighters were crucial in containing and extinguishing the fire, preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of the surrounding area.
Residents in the vicinity expressed their concerns as they witnessed the fire and commended the fire service for their quick and effective response. Local farmer John Barnes said, “It was quite a sight to see the flames, but the fire brigade did an amazing job. We’re grateful for their swift action.”
As investigations continue, the fire service has urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
