Firefighters have been engaged in a challenging battle against a blaze that erupted at a large barn situated on a country road.

Essex County Fire & Rescue Service swiftly dispatched seven crews to respond to the emergency unfolding on New Hall Lane in Mundon, near Maldon.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered significant smoke emanating from the scene, prompting authorities to advise residents and travellers passing through the area to keep their windows closed as a precautionary measure.
