Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information and footage of a car collision that occurred in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, in the early hours of Sunday morning. The incident resulted in injuries to two pedestrians and caused damage to a local pub.
The incident took place at approximately 1.20am on Regent Street. A black Nissan Note veered off the road and collided with The Kingswood Colliers pub. Prior to the arrival of the police, the driver of the car and two other occupants left the scene.
A 32-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was initially taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary for a medical assessment before being returned to police custody, where he remains at present.
Both pedestrians involved in the incident, both men, sought medical attention at the Southmead Minor Injuries Unit.
The police have already recovered the vehicle, which caused damage to the pub. However, detectives are appealing to the public for any information or evidence that may aid their investigation. They are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who witnessed the incident or observed the black Nissan Note before the collision. Dashcam footage, CCTV recordings, or mobile phone videos capturing the events are also of great interest to the investigators.
Members of the public who can provide relevant information are urged to contact the police by calling 101 and referencing the case number 5223163379. Alternatively, they can submit information through the online appeals form.
