Arrest Made in Investigation into Suspicious Package in Folkestone

A 35-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a suspicious package found in Folkestone earlier this week.

Kent Police were called to Radnor Park West at 7:44 am on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, after a suspicious package was discovered. As a precaution, a cordon was established while the Ministry of Defence’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene to examine the item.

After a thorough inspection, the EOD team confirmed the area was safe, and the cordon was lifted later that day.

That same day, officers arrested a local man in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail while further enquiries continue.
