Merseyside Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Walton yesterday evening, December 8.

At around 6.30pm, a male suspect entered Farmfoods on Walton Road and threatened staff with a suspected firearm. The suspect demanded cash from a till and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a grey hoodie, grey jogging bottoms, black gloves, and a balaclava. He is believed to have run through McDonald’s car park towards Salop Street.

No injuries were reported during the incident. However, staff were understandably shaken by the ordeal.

Det. Insp. Leanne Toole said: “This was a shocking incident and we are taking it extremely seriously. We are determined to find the suspect and bring them to justice.

“We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about the suspect to contact us immediately.

“We are also asking anyone who lives in the area or was driving past at the time to review their CCTV or dashcam footage for any relevant information.

“We will not tolerate gun crime in our community and we are relentless in our pursuit of those involved. If you have any information about firearms in your area, please contact us so we can take action.”

If you have any information about this incident, please contact Merseyside Police on 101 or via DM on X @MerPolCC or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’, quoting log 737 of December 8. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
