Appeal to Find Missing Man on the Isle of Sheppey

 

Kent Police are appealing to the public for help in locating Fred Stokes, a 78-year-old man who has gone missing from the Isle of Sheppey.

Fred was last seen at approximately 1:15 pm on Friday, 21 February 2025, in The Leas, Minster on Sea. His family and friends are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Description of Missing Man

  • Name: Fred Stokes
  • Age: 78
  • Height: Approximately 5ft 5ins
  • Appearance: Thinning grey hair, dark-rimmed glasses
  • Clothing: Navy blue puffer jacket, black jogging bottoms, and grey trousers

Police Statement

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

“We are becoming increasingly concerned for Fred’s safety and are asking members of the public in the Isle of Sheppey area to keep an eye out. If you believe you have seen Fred or have any information that may help in locating him, please contact us immediately.”

Given Fred’s age and the current weather conditions, officers are treating the case as a high priority.
