Police are appealing for information following a series of sexual assaults in Islington and the City of London.

On Thursday, 2 May, police were informed of two sexual assaults that occurred between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm. One assault took place in Bunhill Fields and the other on Bunhill Row, EC1, which falls within the Met’s jurisdiction in Islington. The victims of these assaults have not been identified, and police are urging them to come forward.

In addition, two separate sexual assaults were reported within the City of London on 19 June and 16 August. The victims in these cases have been identified and are being supported by the police.

Detective Constable Tom Wright, who is leading the investigation, said: “I am appealing to the public for information regarding the two sexual assaults that took place on Thursday, 2 May. If you were in the area at the time or saw anything suspicious, I urge you to contact us.

“We are currently working to trace the two women who were attacked. If you were a victim, please reach out to us to gain the support you need. We want to be there for you. You can contact us directly on 101, or if you wish to remain anonymous, please speak to Crimestoppers.

“There is also the possibility that the suspect has committed other offences in and around the Islington/City of London border. If you have been a victim of sexual assault, please get in contact.”

A man was arrested by officers from the City of London Police and subsequently charged with four counts of sexual assault.
