Appeal For Information After Residential Burglary In East Belfast

Detectives in East Belfast are urgently seeking information from the public following a reported burglary that occurred at a residential property in the Greenville Road area. The incident unfolded on the night of Friday, September 22.

According to Detective Sergeant McCartan, the authorities received a distressing report just after 21.00 BST on Friday, detailing a burglary at a home where a young girl was alone at the time. Four unidentified men unlawfully entered the residence and proceeded to remove an item before departing.

Fortunately, the young girl inside the property did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident. However, the traumatic experience has understandably left her deeply upset and shaken.

The suspects involved in this burglary were dressed in dark clothing, with three of them concealing their faces with coverings. The East Belfast police force is actively investigating the case, with ongoing inquiries aimed at bringing those responsible to justice.

He urged anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area on the evening of September 22 to come forward and assist with the investigation. Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact the authorities at 101, quoting reference number 1453 of 22/09/23.
