At around 3:30am on Saturday, 18 June, police were called after five men in their twenties self-presented at two south London hospitals with gunshot and knife wounds.
At this point, it appears that all five were injured during a disturbance near Wandsworth Road, SW8, during which a shotgun was discharged.
One of the victims, a 20-year-old man, is still in critical condition.
The investigation is being led by Trident detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, who are collaborating closely with their colleagues from the Central South Command Unit.
“The investigation into this offence and what occurred is in its early stages,” said Detective Sergeant Matt Doohan, who is leading the investigation. This incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, when the general public was most likely sleeping.
“However, we need the support and assistance of our communities to bring those individuals who are willing to endanger others by using firearms and knives on London’s streets to justice and to assist us in preventing further people from being injured in similar circumstances to justice.”
