A swift response by officers has led to an arrest in Sheerness following a report a man possessed a knife in the town
Teenager Charged Following Attempted Robberies in Sheerness

Kent Police was made aware of the incident in Beech Road in the early hours of Saturday 22 June 2024.

Patrols immediately attended and a suspect was detained. A knife was also recovered. It is alleged two constables were assaulted during the arrest.

Darren Cattell, of High Street, Sheerness, was later charged with possession of a knife in a public place and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

The 41-year-old was bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 18 July.
