A suspect has been charged with fraud and going equipped to steal following an investigation by police in Canterbury – UKNIP

Mark Scamp is charged with using a bank card belonging to another and, separately, having bolt croppers for the use in theft.

The first charge relates to the use of a bankcard at a shop in the village of Minster, near Ramsgate, on 14 July 2023. The bankcard had been reported stolen from a car in Aylesham earlier the same day.

The second charge relates to an incident where a bicycle was stolen near Sturry Road, Canterbury, on the afternoon of 26 April 2023.

Mr Scamp, 37, of Dickens Avenue, Canterbury, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 August and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
