Pascal Jombla, 45 of Amhurst Road, Hackney, was convicted at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 8 November, with six counts of rape and two counts of actual bodily harm. He will be sentenced on 30 March 2023.
The court heard that Jombla dragged the victim into his home and subjected her to a horrific and sustained attack in which she was repeatedly raped and assaulted.
The terrified victim was threatened that she would be killed if she did not keep quiet.
Eventually, Jombla fell asleep and the victim, who has mobility issues, was able to shout for help from the front doorway. A passing member of the public came to her aid and called 999.
Officers attended and found the woman suffering from injuries to her face and extensive bruising to her body. She was taken to hospital where it was determined she had suffered a fracture to her lower back as a result of the attack.
Jombla was arrested and later charged and remanded in custody.
Detective Constable Jean-Luc Argent, the investigating officer, said: “The victim continues to suffer the psychological effects of what was a truly despicable assault. She is a vulnerable woman who was incapable of defending herself against the callous and merciless actions of Jombla. He now faces a substantial amount of time behind bars, where he belongs.
“The Met will not stand for violence against women and girls and will do everything we can to bring violent and predatory offenders to justice.
