A man has been arrested after police received calls about a person on a bicycle brandishing a knife in Bethnal Green

Police received calls from concerned members of the public, as well as being tagged into videos posted on social media, after a man was seen in the area of Middleton Green Park, E2 at around 7pm on Sunday, 21 July.

Officers rushed to the scene but the person had gone. There were no reports of any injuries.

After studying the footage and speaking to witnesses, a 25-year-old man was identified and arrested on Tuesday, 23 July on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of drugs. He remains in custody.
