At around 11.50pm the 26-year-old beautician was shot in the head while celebrating Christmas with friends at the Lighthouse Pub in Wallasey Village. Connor Chapman, 22, of no fixed address, attended the hearing at Wirral Magistrates’ Court. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Liverpool Crown Court on Monday. Mr Chapman was also charged with two counts of attempted murder involving Jake Duffy and Kieran Salkeld, three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm involving Harry Loughran, Nicholas Speed, and Liam Carr, and possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life involving a converted Scorpion sub-machine gun. All of the charges stem from the incident on December 24. Mr Chapman, who wore a grey tracksuit and had long hair, was also charged with handling stolen goods, specifically a Mercedes A Class car, between December 22 and 26. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, and that he had no fixed address during his initial court appearance, which lasted about three minutes. Merseyside Police said a 23-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was released on bail pending further investigation.
