A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a pensioner in Enfield

Aleks Tsachev, 21, of no fixed address, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 May.

He was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 13 May.

Both men were known to one another and police are not looking for anyone else to this incident.

Police were called at about 12.30am on Tuesday, 7 May to reports of a man stabbed at an address on Millicent Grove, N13.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man, aged 66, died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Officers are not naming the victim at this time while awaiting confirmation that other family members have been informed.

A 16-year-old boy was also treated for stab injuries; he Is expected to make a full recovery
