£50,000 in Designer Bags and Watches Stolen in Uckfield Burglary: Police Issue CCTV Appeal

A major burglary investigation is underway after luxury items worth an estimated £50,000 were stolen during a daylight raid on a private property in Uckfield, East Sussex.

The incident occurred around 12pm on Thursday, 1 May, at a home near Maresfield service station on the A26 Uckfield Bypass, close to Blackdown Roundabout and London Road.


Suspects Gained Entry Through Upstairs Window

According to Sussex Police, two masked suspects carried out the break-in. One climbed into the property via an upstairs window, while the second suspect remained hidden in the garden during the burglary. Both were wearing black balaclavas and gloves.

Suspect Descriptions:

  • Suspect 1: Black hooded coat, black gloves, blue jeans, navy trainers with white trim

  • Suspect 2: White T-shirt over a black undershirt, black jeans, black shoes, black gloves, and carrying a black rucksack

High-End Items Stolen

CCTV footage shows the suspects leaving with:

  • A large black handbag

  • A large tan handbag

  • A medium light grey handbag

Police believe the bags were used to conceal multiple designer handbags and high-value watches.

The burglars are believed to have escaped in a vehicle, though no make or model has yet been identified.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Constable Kieran Morris of Sussex Police said:

“We are actively investigating this burglary and have made a number of inquiries. We’re now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area, seen the suspects or a suspicious vehicle, or may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist us.”
