14-year-old Charged With Murder In Tragic Stabbing Outside Leeds School

In a deeply tragic incident that has shaken the community, a 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Alfie Lewis. The heartbreaking incident occurred outside the gates of St. Margaret’s Primary School in Horsforth, Leeds, on Tuesday.

Alfie Lewis tragically lost his life after being stabbed in the chest while reportedly on his way to the school to pick up another child. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local area.

West Yorkshire Police have formally charged the 14-year-old boy with both murder and possession of a knife. Due to legal restrictions, the teenager’s identity cannot be disclosed. He is scheduled to appear at the remand court within Leeds Magistrates Court today.

A second individual, a 16-year-old boy, who had also been arrested by West Yorkshire Police in connection with the incident, was released without any charges.

Alfie’s grieving family expressed their immense sorrow and paid a heartfelt tribute to him. In a statement released through the police, his mother, Heather Lane, conveyed her deep grief, saying, “I haven’t got the words to describe how devastated we all are.

Heather Lane continued, “Alfie, you were one in a million, so funny and an all-round entertainer with your rapping and dancing feet. You had the biggest heart and took care of everybody around you.”

“You will never know just how much you are loved by family and friends, and you will always be our Uncle Alfie,” she added. We love you so much. Nothing will ever be the same without you. You will shine in the sky, as bright as you did in all our lives.”

Following Alfie’s untimely death, family and friends gathered to remember him at a bench near his home where he frequently met with pals. The bench was adorned with hundreds of floral tributes, photographs of the young boy, football shirts, a lion teddy bear, and candles. Tea light candles on the ground spelled out the name ‘Alfie.

Tributes from the community poured in, with one message reading, “Rip ‘Uncle’ Alfie. A lovely boy gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rest in eternal peace. We love you.”

Another tribute poignantly stated, “Gone far too soon. Fly high, big lad.”

Alfie Lewis was a former pupil of Horsforth School & Sixth Form, turning 15 in September. Reports suggest that he had left mainstream education approximately two years ago and was enrolled in a specialist pupil referral unit, where he was making positive progress and exploring various hobbies.
