Two teenage boys have been arrested following a serious incident at Westfield Stratford shopping centre on Saturday, 1 March.

A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old were taken into custody after allegedly throwing a heavy seat from the third floor of the shopping centre. Both have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remain in police custody.

Police Investigation

Officers from Newham Police (North East BCU) are investigating the incident and urging anyone with further information to come forward.

A spokesperson from Metropolitan Police Newham said:

“This was a serious incident, and we would encourage anyone who may have further information to contact the police.”
