Emergency Services Rush to Scene of Crash on Brownhill Road
A serious crash involving a Metropolitan Police vehicle and another car left three people injured on Monday evening in Catford, southeast London.
Emergency services were called to Brownhill Road near Stainton Road just after 5pm on May 12 following reports of a collision involving a police car. Two police officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries, while a third person — believed to be from the other vehicle — was treated at the scene.
Officers Injured — Uninsured Vehicle Seized
The incident, which unfolded on one of Catford’s busiest roads, led to significant traffic disruption as paramedics and police secured the scene.
According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson:
“On Monday, 12 May at 17:03hrs, officers were called to Brownhill Road, Catford following reports of a collision between two vehicles, one of them a police car.
Two officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A person from the other vehicle was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
That vehicle was seized at the scene for having no insurance.
Enquiries are ongoing.”
Paramedics Confirm Three Patients Treated
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:
“We were called at 5.03pm yesterday (12 May) to reports of a road traffic collision in Brownhill Road, Catford.
We sent two ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene.
We treated three patients at the scene and took two of them to hospital.”
Investigation Underway
The police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash. The uninsured vehicle has been seized as part of the inquiry.

Residents reported seeing multiple emergency vehicles and a police cordon around the area near Stainton Road, with one witness describing the crash as “a loud bang followed by flashing lights everywhere.”
