The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 PM on Monday, 25 August, on Lordship Lane, SE22. Officers arrived at the scene to find a woman in her 20s with facial injuries. She received treatment from paramedics before being taken to hospital, where it was confirmed that she had suffered a broken jaw.
The victim is currently receiving support from the police.
Details of the Attack
According to investigators, the suspect approached the victim while she was alone, verbally abusing her before striking her in the face. The attacker is described as a Black man, aged between 30 and 40, with balding hair and wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Detective Constable Charlotte Kerr, who is leading the investigation, stated: “We are working hard to find the person we believe is responsible for this senseless and unprovoked attack. Detectives urge anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly around the junction of Lordship Lane and Chesterfield Grove at 4:45 PM on 25 August, to come forward. They emphasised that even the smallest piece of information could prove crucial to the investigation.
