Wrestlers Slam Testicular Cancer Stigma
Wrestlers Slam Testicular Cancer Stigma

Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) is gearing up for an impactful event that transcends the wrestling ring. On Sunday, April 28, at The Garage in Glasgow, ICW presents “ICW Boots Yer Baws,” a unique collaboration with the charity Cahonas Scotland. The event’s name, with a playful nod to Scottish slang and the legendary comedian Billy Connolly, sets the tone for an evening that goes beyond body slams and suplexes.

“ICW Boots Yer Baws” isn’t your typical wrestling spectacle. It’s a powerful platform to raise awareness about testicular cancer and promote early detection. Cahonas Scotland, a dedicated charity, aims to educate men about this often-overlooked form of cancer. By emphasising education and regular self-checks, they hope to break down barriers and encourage open conversations.

Cahonas CEO, Ritchie Marshall, expressed his enthusiasm about teaming up with ICW: “We are absolutely delighted to partner with ICW in our crucial fight against testicular cancer. This collaboration not only spotlights the issue but also tackles the stigma and embarrassment that often surround it. With ICW’s support, we’re confident that we’ll bring this conversation into the mainstream, ensuring cases are detected earlier. Early detection translates to more effective treatment and significantly higher survival rates.”

The event promises an electrifying lineup of wrestling matches and special appearances. But beyond the adrenaline-fuelled action, the focus remains on spreading the message of early detection and self-checks for males. Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute directly to Cahonas Scotland through a dedicated JustGiving page.

The reigning ICW World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Jester (real name Lee Greig), known to fans as Darren from the BBC Scotland sitcom “The Scotts,” is excited about the event. “ICW is the perfect partner for Cahonas Scotland,” he says. “Together, we’ll raise awareness of the excellent work the charity does—informative and fun. Get ready for a night to remember!”

Don’t miss “ICW Boots Yer Baws”—a fusion of wrestling prowess and a vital cause. Let’s slam the stigma surrounding testicular cancer and champion early detection!
