Woman from South West London arrestted for Terror Offences

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of collection and possession of terrorist material after attending a south London police station on the morning of Wednesday, 11 October. The 53-year-old woman was previously arrested on Tuesday, 25 July at an address in south-west London for offences under section 1 and 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and was subsequently released on bail until mid-October. The arrest related to an investigation into a number of social media posts of an extremist nature. However, the woman was further arrested this morning on suspicion of offences under section 57 and 58 of the Terrorism Act 2006. She was detained under PACE and currently remains in police custody. The investigation is being led by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. Enquiries continue.
