Officers carried out a raid after gathering intelligence and information from members of the public about suspicious activity in and around the property in Mansfield Road, Arboretum.
A total of more than 400 cannabis plants were found in rooms on all three floors of the property as well as in the loft and basement.
Two men found inside the flat were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the production of cannabis following the raid at around 10.30am on Tuesday (4 July).
One officer was hit in the face as she detained one of the suspects and suffered minor injuries.
Thirty-seven-year-old Fatjon Ailu, of Mansfield Road, has been charged with producing a Class B drug and one count of assaulting an emergency worker.
Enkeled Tabaku, aged 32, of North Sherwood Street, has been charged with producing a Class B drug.
Both men appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (5 July) and were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 2 August.
Police Constable Emily Hart, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are thankful to members of the public for the vital intelligence they have provided about this cannabis grow.
“It has allowed us to execute a warrant at the property, put a large drug factory out of use and place two suspects before the courts.”
