Three teenagers arrested after Street Robbery

Three teenagers are in custody after a man was robbed of his wallet and phone in Ashford. The victim, in his 40s, was walking along a bridge in Tannery Lane between 9pm and 10pm on Wednesday 6 March 2019 when he told police he was set upon by a group of people who assaulted him and stole his belongings. He described being threatened with a knife. The group left the scene and the victim, who had suffered cuts and bruises, reported the incident to Kent Police. Officers carried out a search of the area and located three teenagers who matched the description of some of the suspects. Two men aged 18 and a girl aged 17, all from Ashford, were arrested and remain in police custody. A knife was seized. Police believe there were members of the public walking along the bridge at around that time who could have seen something suspicious. Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information that could help the investigation is asked to phone Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/43272/19.
