Six Charged After Violent Aggravated Burglary Near Maidstone Leaves Man With Life-Changing Injuries

Six people have been charged with aggravated burglary following a violent break-in near Maidstone that left one man with life-changing injuries and another seriously wounded.

The incident took place at a property near Heath Road, Coxheath, on the evening of 23 December 2024, when Kent Police received emergency calls shortly after 8:10 p.m., reporting a group of intruders forcing entry into the address.

It is alleged that the suspects assaulted two men inside the property using a metal bar and a bladed weapon, before stealing a watch and fleeing the scene in two vehicles.

Responding officers conducted a search of the area and recovered a knife and a crowbar, believed to have been used during the attack.

Victims Hospitalised with Serious Injuries

A man in his 40s sustained life-changing injuries, including head and arm wounds, and was taken to hospital for urgent treatment. Another man, also in his 40s, suffered a serious head injury and was also hospitalised.

Ten Arrests Made in Ongoing Investigation

Following extensive enquiries, eight men and two women were arrested between 31 December 2024 and 3 March 2025 in connection with the burglary. After further investigation, six men have now been formally charged with aggravated burglary.

The individuals charged are:

  • Keith Cranley, 41
  • Darren Adams, 27
  • D’Quan Samuel, 25 — all of Shipwrights Avenue, Chatham
  • Ainsley Louis-Jean, 24, of Wiltshire Close, Chatham
  • Solomon Howard, 23, of Meresborough Road, Gillingham
  • Tyresse Johnson, 23, of Challenger Close, Rainham

All six have been remanded in custody by magistrates, with court proceedings to follow.

Further Enquiries Ongoing

Three additional individuals — two women aged 23 and 64, and a 21-year-old man — have been released on conditional bail as the investigation continues.

Kent Police have confirmed that the case remains active, and officers are continuing to pursue all lines of enquiry.
