A second individual has been charged in connection with assisting former soldier Daniel Khalife following his dramatic escape from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023.
Adeel Khan Charged
- Adeel Khan, 30, from Waltham Forest, east London, has been charged with aiding Khalife after his escape.
- He has also been charged with possession of a phone in prison, according to the Metropolitan Police.
- Khan was charged by postal requisition earlier this month and is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Escape from HMP Wandsworth
Daniel Khalife, a former British soldier, escaped from Wandsworth Prison by tying himself to the underside of a food delivery truck. His bold escape triggered a nationwide manhunt, culminating in his arrest four days later on a canal towpath in west London.
First Arrest – Imran Chowdhury
- Last week, another suspect, Imran Chowdhury, 25, from Chingford, east London, was also charged with assisting Khalife.
- Chowdhury appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 7 January and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
