Search for burglar who broke into Tenterden home

An investigation has been launched after a woman found a burglar inside her home in Tenterden. Kent Police officers were called to Springfield Avenue in St Michaels after the occupant, aged in her 80s, reported waking up sometime between 3pm and 6pm on Saturday 25 May 2019 to find the intruder stood in her kitchen doorway. This startled the suspect and he ran away. Detective Constable Jo Heard said: ‘Luckily nothing was stolen, no one was hurt and the victim has been able to provide a good description of the suspect. We’ve released a computer-generated image of the man we believe is responsible and would like to hear from anyone who recognises him or witnessed the burglary.’ Anyone with information should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/100512/19.
