Seaford Bay Incident Sees RNLI and Coastguard Helicopter Deployed

Newhaven RNLI were paged to launch both lifeboats this afternoon following reports of an incident in Seaford Bay, between Newhaven and Seaford.

The inshore lifeboat (ILB) was first tasked at 12:05pm, followed by the all-weather lifeboat (ALB) at 1:39pm.

Local HM Coastguard teams and the Coastguard helicopter were also called to assist.

Both lifeboats have now returned to station, where they were met by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) crews and local Coastguard teams.

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed.
