Police Investigate Tragic Death of 8-Year-Old Boy in Ealing Lorry Collision

A devastating collision involving a lorry claimed the life of an eight-year-old boy in Ealing, West London, sending shockwaves through the community of Southall.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on King Street shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, February 23, following reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a lorry. Despite the valiant efforts of London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance paramedics, the young boy succumbed to his injuries.

In a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police, it was confirmed that the child was treated at the scene before being swiftly transported to the hospital. Tragically, despite the tireless endeavours of medical professionals, he was pronounced dead at 9:47 p.m. The family of the young victim has been informed of the heartbreaking incident.

The driver of the lorry remained at the scene following the collision, and at present, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

London Ambulance Service dispatched a significant response to the scene, including two ambulances, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer. Additionally, two teams from London’s Air Ambulance were mobilized by car to provide urgent medical assistance.

As investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision unfold, detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses dashcam footage of the event to come forward and assist with inquiries.
