Police confirm Man Dies in Portsmouth Flat

Residents of a block of flats in Somerstown have reported a large police presence this afternoon, with a Patient Transport Ambulance being delayed in dropping off poorly passengers. At one point up to a dozen emergency services were outside Edgbaston House in Sedgely Close, at approximately 1pm, although just two police units and an ambulance have remained at the scene. Reports suggest the police vehicles had previously assembled on Fratton Road. A police officer told worried residents, “You’re safe. I cannot say any more at this time.” One resident, who asked not to be named said “Police escorted two women inside [the flats]. I overheard one Police officer referring to the sister of one of the women, who then repeated “Oh my God!” over-and-over again, with hands clasped over her face.” “No-one has left with any emergency services,” they added. “But items have been thrown out of an 8th floor window.” Police spokeswoman has since confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious
