In Wick, a significant cannabis cultivation operation was disrupted by a police operation, leading to its dismantlement. The Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) of Sussex Police executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the Lineside Industrial Estate around 4.15pm on June 28th.

Upon entering the premises, authorities discovered approximately 1,300 cannabis plants, which held substantial street value. The location also contained various equipment used to facilitate the production of these plants.

Forensic investigators were called to the scene, alongside UK Power Networks, who ensured the safety of the area by addressing the electricity bypass. The cannabis plants and equipment were subsequently destroyed, and an investigation has been initiated.

Sergeant Andy Bryant of the TEU stated, “The sheer number of plants uncovered and the seized equipment indicate the high level of sophistication involved in this cannabis cultivation project. Criminal endeavours like this will not be tolerated in Sussex, and we will diligently gather information to disrupt such activities and bring offenders to justice.”
