Police appeal after Man knocked to Floor in Weston Southampton

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a man in Southampton. The 44-year-old was walking along Weston Lane when he was approached by two men who verbally abused and assaulted him. The victim was knocked to the floor and punched several times while they shouted abuse at him. As a result of the assault, which happened at around 11.45pm on May 6, the victim suffered minor injuries. One of the suspects is described as being white, around 5ft 7ins tall, with clean shaven grey hair and was wearing blue jeans and a blue jumper. PC Cat Symonds said: “The victim has understandably been left shaken by this incident and we want to catch those responsible. “The victim has told us that he noticed a man in a white tracksuit in the area at the time of the assault so we would appeal for this person to come forward as he may have seen or heard something which could assist our investigation. “This happened in a residential area so we are also appealing to anyone else who may have heard or saw something to contact us.” Anyone with information about this assault is asked to contact PC Symonds on 101, quoting 44160170910, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
