Police Appeal for Witnesses After Teenager Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision in Halifax

 

Police are seeking witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision in Illingworth, Halifax, on Friday night (October 25). The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Raw Lane when the teenage pedestrian was crossing the road.

According to police, the boy was struck by a vehicle, believed to be a black Range Rover, which had turned left onto Raw Lane from Keighley Road. The impact left the boy with multiple injuries, including a broken arm. Shockingly, the driver failed to stop and left the scene immediately after the collision.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are urgently appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage of the vehicle involved. Those with information are asked to contact West Yorkshire Police at 101 or via their online LiveChat at West Yorkshire Police LiveChat, quoting reference 1628 of October 25.

This appeal comes as the injured teenager continues to receive medical treatment for his injuries. Authorities are determined to locate the driver and gather more information to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
