In a significant development in the ongoing manhunt for escaped terror suspect Daniel Khalife, the Metropolitan Police have released new images of the clothing he was last seen wearing. This release follows a confirmed sighting of Khalife in southwest London on Wednesday morning.
The 21-year-old former soldier had been on the run since his escape from Wandsworth Prison, and the latest sighting places him in the vicinity of his escape point. According to the Metropolitan Police, Khalife was spotted fleeing a lorry at Wandsworth Roundabout, which is approximately a mile away from the prison facility.
In their efforts to bring Khalife back into custody, the Metropolitan Police have announced a reward of £20,000 for any information that leads to his arrest. The public’s response has been substantial, with around 100 calls already received by officers. Additionally, individuals are encouraged to submit relevant imagery and video, including doorbell and mobile phone footage, through the Met’s UK Image Appeal website.
The latest breakthrough in the investigation involves clarifying the route taken by the delivery van that Khalife is believed to have used in his escape. Initial information had been based on GPS data obtained from the vehicle. However, further analysis of CCTV footage has allowed investigators to refine their understanding of the escape route.
According to the Metropolitan Police, “After exiting Wandsworth Roundabout onto Swandon Road, the van remained on the road until turning left onto Fairfield Street.” This updated route information could prove crucial in narrowing down Khalife’s potential whereabouts and aiding in his capture.
