Despite the diligent efforts of first responders, the young victim, identified as Anis Omar Zen, a resident of Harrow, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene shortly after their arrival. Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith, who is leading the inquiry, has issued a plea for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
“This murder happened in broad daylight, and I’m certain that it would have been witnessed by people who are yet to speak with officers,” said DCI Smith. He urged the community to assist in solving this crime by reviewing any potential evidence, including video doorbell footage or dash-cam recordings from vehicles in the vicinity.
A crime scene will remain in place in the area for the foreseeable future, and local residents have been cooperating with law enforcement authorities during the ongoing investigation.
The motive behind this tragic murder remains unclear at this time, and detectives are determined to identify and apprehend the individual responsible. A 19-year-old man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder and has been subsequently released on bail, pending further inquiries.
