Man Seriously Injured After Shooting Near West Bromwich Albion Football Club

 

A major police investigation is underway following a shooting incident on West Bromwich High Street yesterday (Thursday, 1 May).

The incident is believed to have occurred near the junction with Trinity Way at around 11:35am. Reports indicate that a vehicle was shot at during the attack.

Shortly after the incident, a man in his 20s arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He remains in a serious condition this afternoon, according to police sources.

Officers from West Midlands Police remain at the scene conducting extensive enquiries, while additional patrols have been deployed to reassure the local community.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area throughout the day due to the police cordon and ongoing investigations.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said:
“We are in the early stages of our investigation and are appealing for anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage from the area at the time to contact us immediately.”
