Man who arrived on flight is released on Bail over Terror offences

On Saturday, 7 April, Detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested a 55-year-old man on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism and dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2006. Police officers arrested the man at approximately 11.02hrs at Gatwick Airport, after he arrived on an inbound flight from Morocco. He was arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act taken to a south London police station. He has now been released on condition bail to date in early May.
