Man jailed for five years after Reading Sex attack

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for sexual assault. Ade Jerry, aged 37, of Iliffe Close, Reading, was jailed for five years and four months at Reading Crown Court on Friday (14/6). He was found guilty by unanimous decision of one count of sexual assault by penetration at the same court on Thursday 7 February this year, following a ten day trial. The charge relates to an offence that took place in a property on Friar Street, Reading at 3.30am on 24 March 2018, when a woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted. Investigating officer, DC James Woodcock, of Reading police station said: “I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case, who has bravely given evidence in court and assisted with the investigation. “Thames Valley Police takes all reports of sexual assault incredibly seriously and will thoroughly investigate to bring offenders like Jerry to court to face justice. “We would always urge anyone who is a victim of sexual assault to make a report. “Anyone who makes a report will always be treated with sensitivity and specially trained officers will assist as much as they can.”
