M25 Closed Clockwise Between Junction 4 and Junction 5 Due to Van Fire

A section of the M25 motorway is currently closed clockwise between Junction 4 (Bromley) and Junction 5 (M26) due to a van fire, disrupting motorists travelling in the area.

Kent Police and the fire service are at the scene, working to manage the situation and ensure the safety of all road users. The closure has led to significant traffic congestion in the area, with delays expected on the approach to the closure and diversion routes.

Road users are advised to follow the designated diversion route indicated by the hollow triangle diversion symbol on road signs. The diversion route is as follows:

  1. Exit the M25 at Junction 4.
  2. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto M25 Link towards London.
  3. At M25 Link / A21 / A224 “Hewitts roundabout,” take the 1st exit onto A224 towards Dunton Green.
  4. At the B2211 roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A224 over M25 towards Sevenoaks.
  5. At the A25 mini roundabout at Riverhead, take the 2nd exit onto A25 towards M25.
  6. At the second mini roundabout, turn right onto A25 towards M25.
  7. Cross over A21 and turn right at traffic signals onto M25 Spur road.
  8. Take M25 exit slip at M25 Junction 5 Interchange to rejoin M25 towards Gatwick.

Motorists are advised to allow extra journey time and plan ahead, considering alternative routes or delaying their journeys if possible. Delays are expected, and patience is encouraged during this period of disruption.
