In a somber courtroom session at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court, Stephanie McClelland, 36, from Shan Slieve, and Andrea Stevenson, 43, from Edward Street, appeared in relation to the tragic murder of 23-year-old Odhrán Kelly in Co Armagh.
The victim’s lifeless body was discovered next to a burning car in the Edward Street area during the early hours of Sunday, sending shockwaves through the community. McClelland and Stevenson faced charges of assisting an offender, allegedly knowing the individual had committed murder, by aiding in the disposal of the victim’s body.
During the proceedings, both women acknowledged their understanding of the serious charges against them. A detective sergeant from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) informed the court of the evidence connecting the accused to the charges.
The court decided to remand McClelland and Stevenson in custody, scheduling their next appearance at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court through a video link on December 15.
