October Films, a leading UK/US producer, is currently in production on a new three-part series for Channel 4 titled “Levison Wood: Walking with… The series follows renowned explorer and writer Levison Wood as he embarks on a quest to locate and document some of the world’s most iconic and endangered animals.
In this riveting documentary, Wood will venture to three distinct locations – Borneo, Namibia, and East Greenland – in order to encounter Orangutans, track down the last remaining Desert Lions, and get as close as possible to Polar Bears, respectively. These animals are not only fascinating to observe, but they also serve as symbols of the increasing threat posed by human activity and climate change to our planet’s delicate ecosystem.
Wood’s journeys will take him into some of the harshest and most remote environments on Earth. In order to truly immerse himself in the animals’ world, he will live and interact with the locals, learning about their unique lives and the daily challenges they face. With the guidance of indigenous guides and naturalists, Wood will gain a deeper understanding of how these animals are surviving against the odds. He will also explore the complex issues surrounding human-wildlife interaction, as well as the impact of climate change on both humans and animals.
Throughout his expeditions, Wood will encounter a wide range of animal species, both in the wild and in rescue and rehabilitation centers. This will allow him to explore the benefits that these animals bring to their surrounding communities, such as their contributions to identity, spirituality, conservation, and tourism.

“Levison Wood: Walking with…” is co-produced by October Films and Blackmane Media. Neil Bonner serves as the director, while Martin Long takes on the role of line producer. The series is executive produced by Adam Bullmore, with Dave Luke serving as executive producer for Blackmane Media. Channel 4 commissioned the series, overseen by Daniel Fromm, and Blue Ant International is handling distribution. Levison Wood is represented by Wolfsong Media.
