Kent fire crews called to rescue on the River Medway

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to rescue two people stuck in the mud on the River Medway on Friday evening. Two fire appliances were sent to the scene and crews arrived to find two people stranded on a boat that had become stuck in mudflats near the Sun Pier in Chatham. Crews used specialist mud paths to reach and rescue the two people from the boat. The scene was then passed into the care of Kent Police. A coastguard search and rescue team was also sent to assist at the incident.
