Isle Of Wight Terror Teenager  Allegedly Researched The Isle Of Wight Festival As A Possible Target Is Remanded  To Appear At The Old Bailey

The Cowes teenager, whose identity we are not permitted to reveal, appeared in Westminster Magistrates Court this afternoon with his mother, who sat in the public gallery. During the brief hearing before District Judge Ikran, the 15-year-old boy from the Isle of Wight was charged with carrying out conduct contrary to the intention of committing acts of terrorism or engaging in conduct in preparation of carrying out an act of terrorism, which falls under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. This afternoon, the teenager from Cowes appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court (Monday). He was accused of plotting an Islamic State-inspired terror attack. He denied the charge of terrorist act preparation under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act of 2006. The court heard that, the 15-year-old was arrested by counter-terrorism officers last Monday with a knife in his rucksack (11). It came after the FBI received information that he was planning to attack a non-believer who he believed had insulted Islam, a Prosecutors claim he researched the Isle of Wight Festival, which was attended by approximately 90,000 people and featured acts such as Lewis Capaldi and Kasabian. The adolescent, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is said to have become interested in extreme Islam and to have supported Isis ideology. The youth is said to have looked at weapons, including firearms, vehicles, and a stab vest, in addition to conducting online research into a location to commit an attack, according to the Evening Standard. He is also accused of obtaining a knife and writing notes, including an alleged martyrdom note titled To My Family. Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) and Hampshire Constabulary worked together to apprehend him. He was arrested yesterday. He has been remanded into custody There was no application for bail and no plea was entered,. and the teenager, dressed in a grey shirt, was told that his case would have to be heard at the plea and direction hearing at the Old Bailey in August. He has been remanded into custody until that date
