Authorities have launched a thorough investigation following a disturbing incident in which a woman was attacked with ammonia at an address on Whinfield Road. The incident unfolded shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday, March 3, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to initial reports, the victim, a woman in her 30s, had a substance believed to be ammonia thrown in her face. Swift action was taken, and the victim was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her injuries were not deemed serious, and she has since been discharged.
Detective Inspector Kirsty Wyatt, from the West Criminal Investigation Department (CID), emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “It is only a matter of luck that this victim did not sustain more significant injuries. We are treating this incident extremely seriously.”
Authorities are treating the assault as an isolated and targeted attack, reassuring the public that there is currently no broader threat to safety. However, an ongoing investigation is underway to determine the motive behind this disturbing incident and to bring those responsible to justice.
As part of their inquiries, law enforcement officials are keen to speak with Mickey Blundell, a 19-year-old individual whose last known address is Radcliffe Road, Fleetwood. Blundell’s cooperation is vital in piecing together the events leading up to the attack.
Detective Inspector Wyatt urged the public’s assistance, stating, “If anyone sees Blundell or knows of his whereabouts, we ask that they do not approach him directly. Instead, please contact the police immediately.
