Global Coalition Conducts Fresh Strikes on Houthi Targets in Yemen

In a coordinated effort, British and American forces, supported by a coalition of nations, conducted fresh strikes on eight targets within Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen tonight. The involved countries, including Albania, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Guinea-Bissau, Hungary, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Poland, Republic of Korea, and Romania, released a joint statement justifying the military action.

The statement cited “continued illegal and reckless Houthi attacks” on ships in the Red Sea as the primary reason for the strikes. The international coalition underscored that the objective was to disrupt and degrade the Houthi’s capability to carry out attacks on global trade and innocent mariners without escalating the situation.

“The strikes were designed to disrupt and degrade the capability of the Houthis to continue their attacks on global trade and innocent mariners from around the world while avoiding escalation,” the statement said.

In response, the Houthi faction claims that their attacks are aimed at ending the air and ground offensive on the Gaza Strip following the October 7 attacks by Hamas. The situation has escalated with various methods, including the use of drones, rockets, and even helicopters dropping militants onto commercial ships.
