Fire Crews Respond To Heathfield Trailer Blaze

In the early hours of November 15, 2023, the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to a significant trailer fire on Station Road, Heathfield. The call received at 5.37 am, initiated a prompt response from multiple fire stations, including Uckfield, Crowborough, Pevensey, and Barcombe.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire was not only confined to the trailer but was also impacting an adjacent commercial building. To combat the blaze, crews were equipped with breathing apparatus and utilized two 45mm jets.

By 7.00 am, there was a notable improvement in the situation, with the fire and rescue service reporting steady progress in containing the fire.

The firefighting efforts culminated successfully with the fire being completely extinguished by 8.00 am. Following this, the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service began withdrawing their teams from the scene, transferring the responsibility back to the owners of the premises.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
