Fire crews called to Ryde Co-op fire
An Isle of Wight fire and rescue service fire crew has been called the Ryde Co-op in Anglesea Street on the Isle of Wight this afternoon. The crews of five tackled a small fire within the supermarket just after 4.20pm on Thursday afternoon. The store was evacuated and firefighters in breathing appurtus tackles a small fire on the stairs within the supermarket. Crews have also used PPV (Postive pressure ventilation) to remove a thick layer of smoke. Staff at the store have advised that store is to remain closed for the rest of the day.
