Emergency Services Called After Person Barricaded Themselves In Property In Mottingham South East London Armed With Gas Cylinders

Armed Police, Fire crews and “HART” Paramedics have all raced to an address on Dunkery Road this evening following reports that a person has barricaded themselves in a property and is armed with what is understood to be a large number of gas cylinders. Police have closed the road and a number of residents in the surrounding properties are being moved to a safe area whilst specialists try to engage with the distressed person. A number of bus services have been affected by the road being blocked in both directions at the junction of  Mottingham Road the routes affected are : 124,126,273   A number of residents have taken to social media to air their concerns as the incident began to unfold at around 7.30pm and remains very much ongoing The Met police have been approached for a statement   More to follow
