Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two individuals in connection with the theft of a Rolex watch in Midhurst.

The incident took place on West Street at approximately 1:15pm on 18 July. According to reports, an elderly woman was approached by a man and a woman, both believed to be in their 20s, carrying clipboards. The pair reportedly claimed to be deaf and requested the victim to sign a petition. After a brief interaction, which included a hug and a handshake, they walked away. It was only five minutes later that the elderly woman noticed her prized Rolex watch had vanished.

Local officers, now leading the investigation, believe that the individuals captured in the circulated photographs might possess crucial information aiding their ongoing enquiries. They are urging these individuals or anyone who can identify them to come forward.

Residents with any relevant information regarding this incident are asked to report it to Sussex police either online or by dialling 101, referencing case number 788 of 18/07.
